Michael Marantz is a director, writer, and composer drawn to stories that hit where it hurts—and heal where they can.

A cancer survivor who began filmmaking as a teenager, Michael’s work blends emotional depth with cinematic precision, often exploring themes of loss, resilience, and transformation. His debut feature, After, is a character-driven thriller shaped by personal experience and made with a small crew on the land where his wife grew up.

Michael’s narrative shorts, The White Rabbit and We Do This Once, both premiered at Tribeca and his other shorts have earned ten Vimeo Staff Picks. His commercial work spans Super Bowl spots, global campaigns, and over 50 million views online—always bringing story first. Whether building suspense or finding stillness, his aim is the same: to make something that lingers.

He lives in Massachusetts with his wife and two kids, and occasionally DJs parties in barns.
